It stands proud amongst 21 other competitors from around the world; representing the Emirates of Ajman and UAE. The AU Team is “Aqua Green” Ajman and comprises of Male and Female students from all the disciplines of Engineering and IT.

The Solar Decathlon Middle East (SDME) was created through an agreement signed between Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the Department of Energy of the United States of America, in June 2015, in order to organize a sustainable solar houses competition in Dubai in 2018.

It is an international competition where students from universities are requested to design and build a solar sustainable zero CO2 emissions house. The house will be judged by ten items, hence the Decathlon. The students are then supposed to dismantle the house and move it to the location of the exhibition in in Dubai in 2018, and reconstruct it in 10 days on site within the exhibition confounds. The exhibition will stay open to the public for two months. The competitors are given two years to design and build the house.

AU has designed and planned their entry in the competition to be transferred into the Renewable Energy Research Center when it is moved back from the location of the exhibition.
