First Prize Secured at Third UGSRC by Engineering College

Students at the College of Engineering in Ajman University of Science and Technology won the first prize in Education Category at the 3rd Annual United Arab Emirates Undergraduate Student Research Competition (UGSRC) held at Abu Dhabi University.

They received this award for their outstanding research titled, “Inclusive Education and Empowerment Using Assistive Technology”. The research was undertaken by Shahin Basiratzadeh and Masoud Dorrikhteh under the supervision of Eng. Tazeen Sharif from the College of Engineering.

It was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The competition attracted around 250 research submissions in 6 categories of various fields including engineering, information technology, natural and health sciences, humanities, languages, mass communication, business administration and education.

Around 800 students from 22 universities across the UAE has convened at Abu Dhabi University for the opening ceremony of the "3rd Annual United Arab Emirates Undergraduate Student Research Competition (UGSRC)" finale.

Dr. Saeed Al-Hassani Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Martina Newell, Division Manager for Research from ADEC and Dr. Yehya Al Marzouqi Executive Director of Project Management Office at "Tawazun" attended the ceremony.
