AUST participates in IEEE Student Conference, Poland

Ajman University of Science & Technology participated in the IEEE Region 8 Student and Young Professional Congress 2014, In Krakow, Poland. Other participants hailed from Asia, Africa and Europe.

The conference included workshops, seminars and various activities all related to the various engineering specializations like; computer, communications, energy and electronics. On the sidelines workshops were also held for the self-development and entrepreneurship related to the disciplines of electrical and control communications.

Mohammed Ziad represented Ajman University at the conference, during the 5 days many other events were also organized to give a comprehensive experience to the participants. The participants took corporate tours of scientific institutes and companies in the region. One special evening was organized to facilitate cultural exchange through the multi-cultural evening Mohammed Ziad represented UAE by wearing its national dress and presenting the visitors and fellow participants with local flavors of food and coffee. 

The year’s achievement for every branch of IEEE was presented at the conference through poster presentations. AUST students made the University and the UAE branch proud by presenting posters of their innovative inventions and scientific research. This provided an ideal platform for students to showcase their achievements on a global platform and gain experience from other branches across the world.

Mohammed Ziad, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Fahr Hayati, Dean, College of Engineering, Dr. Mustahsin Mir, Head, Department of Electrical Engineering at AUST and the IEEE UAE branch for giving such a unique opportunity to represent UAE on an international arena.

The purpose of this event is to help engineering students, PhD. students and young professionals gain further insight, enabling exchange of knowledge and skills. The plenary sessions and workshops in this congress will not only put their focus on research and technological developments, but also career issues and the importance of developing the so-called soft skills. This is an international event organized by IEEE where more than 400 young engineering students and young professionals from more than 350 universities of Europe, Middle East and Africa meet together to discuss present and future engineering challenges, network and learn more about the IEEE.
