I started work as an engineer with Plessey Components, UK, in 1969 and moved to academic work in 1972. After 19 years of teaching and administrative work at Mosul University and Al-Mustansiriya University in Iraq, I moved in 1991 to universities outside Iraq. I spent time in universities in Algeria, Jordan, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates.

In 1999 I joined Ajman University as a faculty member and in the year 2000 was made the Dean of College of Engineering. In addition to academic and administrative work which began in 1972 and until now I have been involved in numerous consultations related to academia and industry

Semiconductors, Photovoltaics and Solar Energy and currently research is in Engineering Education
