Welcome to the College of Engineering and Information Technology, CEIT. The College is one of the largest in Ajman University and is dedicated to provide the local, regional and global market with competent engineers and information technology graduates who are capable of dealing with and responding to the technological needs of the twenty first century. The combination of dedicated faculty and staff together with enthusiastic creative and energetic students are the basis of a vibrant, healthy and innovative learning environment that we have.
We at the CEIT are committed to excellence and our priority is to have graduates who can excel in their career and be able to be lifelong learners. They need this in order to keep up with the changing demands of the global market. Our graduates are prepared for a smart world, a world that is built on high-speed communication, IOT, man-machine interaction, big data, automation, robotics, artificial intelligence and beyond. A world, which requires experts to sustain it despite its diminishing resources and increasing energy demand.
It is our obligation to our students and to all our stakeholders to maintain high quality learning environment through continued revision, updating of our programs, updating existing labs and the introduction of new laboratories, and providing the latest in classroom technology. We focus on motivating our students and getting them involved in the learning process through hands-on projects, collaborative learning and participation in real life market initiated problems.
Our students' creativity and innovative solutions can be seen through numerous awards and prizes collected at different occasions locally and internationally. A major factor contributing to our successes is the opportunity we provide and the encouragement we offer to our students in engaging in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, locally and internationally. The College has maintained the practice of engaging students in workshops, conferences, competitions with emphasize on community and market related issues of concern. We are proud to have had our students excelling and outperforming others in numerous occasions locally, regionally and globally.
Our graduates have lived up to our expectations and have proven their professional competence in all activities related to their programs. There were those who opted for graduate studies and did extremely well at both local and international institutions. None of this would have been possible without committed students with supportive parents, quality programs meeting international standards, dedicated faculty, excellent resources and a healthy learning environment.
The College offers the following undergraduate programs:
B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering
B.Sc. in Civil Engineering
B.Sc. in Computer Engineering
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with three concentration;
B.Sc. in Information Systems with two concentrations;
B.Sc. in Information Technology with two concentration;
Our Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering programs are ABET accredited and we hope to have the other programs accredited not in the too far future.
The focus of the College over the years has been on undergraduate studies. Major steps have now been taken to put more into research. The College has defined areas of research most pressing in the coming years, evolving around smart systems with its applications in biomedical engineering, energy, built environment and sustainability. We plan to enhance our research by the introducing new multidisciplinary graduate programs within the next five years.
I know how big the challenges ahead are. I look to the future with great confidence and sense of optimism and anticipation and see the College of Engineering and Information Technology achieving its goals. We can do that with our dedicated faculty and staff, our responsible student body and with the support of our alumni, friends and all stakeholders. We look forward to joining hands and forming partnership with local and international entities to work together for the benefit of our communities and humanity.
